Sonic Sculptures

Sonic Sculptures is a personal project I worked on years ago. I utilized openFrameworks and FFT analysis to create a 3D mesh out of audio data from individual songs. I have a lot of strong memories associated with specific songs, and I was interested in exploring the physicality of those cherished pieces of music.

I released a version of the software that has become a bit too difficult to keep updated, but the older code is available on Github (last made to work on openFrameworks 0.9.8).

I made several small prints, but never got the chance to make some larger more detailed prints. I was able to collaborate with Son Lux on a 3D rendering that was posted on their Instagram, and that was a dream come true.
