Personal Work

Since 2014, I've been taking photos of old CRT TV's that I find on the street. A couple years ago I decided to start posting them on an Instagram account found here. I occaisionally get sent photos from other folks around the world and also include them in the feed.

It has gotten harder to spot them as time goes on, but I'm still surprised by how many are out there. I have also started to include flatscreen LCD TV's. I've collected roughly 300-400 photos since 2014.

There is something to seeing these objects that were stared at for years in people's homes. It's one last look before they are destroyed forever and people move on to a new technology. Their power towards an individual isn't in the object itself, but in the light and sound that was flowing through them. RIP.
